Meet our IR partners for the Global Talent program!

Olá, Hello, Ciao, Hola, γεια σας (geia sas), Dzień dobry our international relations – IR partners for the Global Talent program are welcoming you!

It is important that countries work together as much as possible, especially in an international organization like AIESEC. Even though AIESEC is present in 126 countries, every country has special international relations (IR) partners they work together with. Why? Because this makes the application process and overall experience better for everyone involved! The Netherlands works together with Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, Turkey, Ukraine, Italy and Poland for our Global Talent program.

What are the benefits?

The purpose of having an IR partner is to guarantee a smooth collaboration between the two countries. Moreover, you have a lot of information about each other’s working style and the situation in the country itself, and our IR partners will keep us well informed about how the applications of Dutch applicants (anyone registered in The Netherlands) are proceeding. For example, a Dutch student wants to do an internship in Portugal. We already know that the internship conditions will be great since we have past experiences with Dutch interns in Portugal.

Also, with the current COVID context, having close relations to the countries we work with, ensures a safe stay of our interns.

They picked us!

Working together with such diverse countries is exciting! AIESEC The Netherlands is very happy to be able to work together with its IR partners, and vice versa. How do we know this? Because we asked these entities why they like to work together with us. Poland told us that they are excited to work with the Netherlands because their companies are always welcoming and are eager to have trainees from the Netherlands. Therefore, a partnership with us is a win-win situation – the right applicants get matched with their dream internships!

So, if you would like to do an internship abroad and have the experience of a lifetime, check out one of our IR partners, explore their culture and boost your career!

My AIESEC volunteering project in Italy

My AIESEC volunteering project in Italy

In January 2020 I participated in an AIESEC Project on environment and sustainability in Castellana Grotte, Italy. I was lucky to stay six weeks in one of the most beautiful small villages I have been to. My work was about teaching the kids in the local Highschool on the UN SDGs and sustainability. My fellow AIESEC students were so kind to pick me up in Bari. They made sure I was safe and showed me how to travel to my destination.

The power of cultural intelligence

The power of cultural intelligence

A third type of intelligence, only introduced after the start of the 21st century, is CQ; Cultural Quotient, or cultural intelligence. Every person’s cultural expression (e.g. their way of speech, beliefs, norms, body language, rituals and so on) are influenced by the cultural society they are or used to be part of. Due to this unique, intrinsic collection of culture every person carries with them, we are all different.
