Exchange Standards – what are they?

Exchange Standards – what are they?

By Jesler van Houdt

What are the exchange standards?

The AIESEC exchange standards are 16 promises from us to you. They describe what you can expect from us once you decide to go abroad with AIESEC.

Why does AIESEC have exchange standards?

By having clear, defined exchange standards, AIESEC is transparent about what if offers its exchange participants. They commit us to support you in the best way possible. Also, they tell you what you can expect and demand from us when you sign the contract to go abroad with AIESEC.

Secondly, the exchange standards are a way for us to analyse the quality of the experiences and exchanges. Did someone else indicate that, for example, the accommodation was insufficient? Then we will try to improve this right away. If this isn’t possible, we won’t recommend this project to you anymore. By looking at these 16 central aspects, we can make sure that you will have the best experience of your life!

A closer look

So, let’s have a closer look at the exchange standards! For this, we have prepared a nice, compact overview of every exchange standard as well as what they entail.

To clarify beforehand:

The HOST entity is the AIESEC community in the city you’re going to. They’re responsible for keeping promises such as picking you up from the airport and providing you with accommodation.

The HOME entity is the AIESEC community that is helping you in finding a project and preparing your exchange. They take care of things like a preparation seminar and expectation setting.

So, those are the exchange standards – our promises to you to make sure that you’ll have an experience of a lifetime! If you have any more questions about them, you can always contact your local AIESEC entity and they’ll tell you everything else you need to know!
