What is Global Talent?
Let’s start by explaining what a Global Talent project is. A Global Talent (GT) is an internship for young people aiming towards professional career development in a global setting. It is the perfect choice for you when you want to kick-off or boost your career.
And why is that, you might ask? Well, since this is a professional internship, you will gain a lot of experience within your desired work field, which adds to your resume and, in the end, will help you become more qualified for jobs later in life.
What are its career-benefits?
One of the interns that worked via the Global Talent program at a company here in the Netherlands told me that AIESEC allowed her to start a career abroad with guidance and be in charge of interesting projects. Furthermore, the internship gave her the feeling that she added value to the company.
Lea’s experience with Global Talent
I’ll let her explain this a bit further:
‘’So, in my case, I was graduated and I had been unemployed for 2 months. I had always worked in my life for either a student job or for an organization. I was super impatient and stressed about finding a job, and all the feedback I got when I applied for one was that I was not experienced enough.Going with AIESEC allowed me to develop new skills. The company really needed a French-speaking intern, and they had trouble to find one. So they decided to just hire me and hope that I would do the job. I am really positive about the whole experience. I had the opportunity to grow and learn within a working environment and that made me a lot more confident. And, because I still was a trainee, I could take my time by researching a subject or following a different trainee and directly apply my new knowledge at the company. I had the space to learn and gain a lot of experience.” – Lea (Trainee at SB Supply)
